Symbolic Significance

A Melodious Old World Songbird

Larks compose beautiful and delicate morning songs. These cheery little songbirds sing rich, sustained songs even in flight, distinguishing them from most other birds, who only sing while perched. Their song is harmonious and bright, evoking us to find our own inner happiness... sweetly serendipitous, a group of larks is referred to as an ascension, an exaltation, or a happiness.

Uplifting Messenger

Revered messengers in religion and mythology, larks represent warmth, light, and life. Christianity attributes larks with calling believers towards faith and the attainment of divine love, cherished as a symbol of spiritual enlightenment. Regarded with great respect, the meadowlark is celebrated as a messenger of good things in the Native American myth Oglala Lakota. Holding a deep, longstanding place in literature and culture, the lark is a symbol of daybreak and renewal. Beyond jubilant symbolism, the lark also carries striking notions of guidance and protection.

A Spirit Animal

One who finds parallels with the nature of the lark often embraces fearlessness, enriching life’s experience, freedom, truth-seeking, and the power of physical, mental, and spiritual harmony.
